Instructions
Step 01
- Marinate the
drumsticks: In a bowl, mix drumsticks with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and
cornstarch. Let sit for 10 minutes while you prep the vegetables.
Step 02
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil
in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the drumsticks and
cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all
sides. Remove and set aside.
Step 03
- In the same skillet,
add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds
until fragrant. Add onions and carrots, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until
slightly softened.
Step 04
- Return the drumsticks
to the skillet. Pour in the sauce mixture (soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey,
sesame oil, and water). Stir well to coat everything evenly.
Step 05
- Cover and simmer for
8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the drumsticks are fully cooked
and the sauce has thickened.
Step 06
- Garnish with sesame
seeds and green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- For extra spice, add a
pinch of red chili flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
- Substitute chicken
drumsticks with chicken thighs or tofu for a vegetarian version.
- Adjust sauce sweetness
or saltiness to taste.
